Kira Lee Orsag, known professionally as Dani Daniels, is an American pornographic actress,[1] stripper, and visual artist.[2]

Early life[edit]

Daniels is from Orange County, California.[3] She was raised by two mothers.[4] She attended an art school for about two years, but dropped out.[5]

Career[edit]

Daniels began stripping before her porn career to pay her rent.[5][6] Her stage name was derived from the first name of an ex-boyfriend as an act of revenge against him.[5][7] She entered the adult film industry in January 2011, joining the agency OC Modelling.[8] Her first scene was for Reality Kings.[7] She was initially a lesbian-only performer, but later started performing with men.[9] Her first four sex scenes with men were in the film Dani Daniels: Dare for Elegant Angel.[9] Elegant Angel also produced an all-girl film titled Dani, which featured Daniels in every scene.[10] Dani won the 2013 AVN Award for Best All-Girl Release.[11] Daniels has directed for Filly Films, Penthouse Studios, Brazzers, and Reality Kings.[12][13]

Daniels was the Twistys Treat of the Month for July 2011,[14] the Penthouse Pet of the Month for January 2012,[15] and Elegant Angel's Girl of the Month for March 2014.[16] That same month, Brazzers cast her in the lead role of a five-part series titled The Whore of Wall Street, an adult parody of The Wolf of Wall Street.[17]

Daniels started out webcamming for Streamate and later moved to CamSoda.[18][2]

Daniels performed for the 2014 film Dani Daniels Deeper,[19] which won the AVN Award for Best Interracial Release[20] and the XBIZ Award for Interracial Release of the Year in 2015.[21] In 2015, she collaborated with Doc Johnson to create a line of sex toys,[22] which won the 2016 AVN Fan Award for Most Amazing Sex Toy.[23]

Daniels was placed on CNBC's list of "The Dirty Dozen: Porn's Most Popular Stars" in 2014[24] and 2015.[25]

In July 2018, an image of Daniels, along with several other noted adult stars, was painted on the side of a bus that traveled around Kerala, India.[26][27] The mural was part of a marketing campaign aimed to boost college tour rides.[26]

Talk show and podcast[edit]

In late 2018, Daniels announced her new talk show Dinner with Dani on Amazon Prime Video.[28] The show features fellow adult industry personalities, along with other guests. Noted guests have included Asa Akira, Alexis Texas, Christy Mack, Julia Ann, Lauren Phillips, Johnny Sins, Mia Malkova, Rich Vos, Coolio and Gilbert Gottfried.[29] The show wrapped up its first season in March 2019.

In August 2019, Daniels and her husband began hosting The Two Onions, a once-weekly sex talk podcast.[30]

Personal life[edit]

Daniels is married to television producer Victor Cipolla.[1] She is also a blogger and painter.[2] She creates pointillist artwork[5] under the name "Kira Lee".[22] As of January 2016, she is attending flight school.[2] She identifies as bisexual, and mainly considers herself a "girl/girl model".[9]

Scam artists have been using Daniels' photos and impersonating her on social media accounts to defraud her fans for years. One man filed a complaint in small claims court in 2018, claiming that Daniels had scammed him out of $1,785. Daniels filed a countersuit, alleging that the complainant had wanted to force the case to mediation in order to interact with her. He later dropped the lawsuit.[1]
