Sean Kim (Hangul: 김세훈) is a Korean-Canadian entrepreneur, investor, and podcast host.[1] He was born in South Korea and grew up in Vancouver, Canada, before attending McGill University in Montreal.
Kim is a Columnist on Inc. Magazine, and is a contributing writer on media publications including TIME, Fast Company, Huffington Post, and New York Observer.[2][3][4][5] Through his podcast, The Sean Kim Show, he has interviewed authors, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and producers such as Dennis Rodman, Steve Aoki, Robert Greene, Dave Asprey, Amy Cuddy, Galantis, Charlamagne Tha God, and Suzy Welch.[6][7][8][9]
As of March 2018, he is the top 100 most followed author on Medium.com[10]
Education[edit]
After finishing high school in Vancouver, Kim moved to Montreal, Canada to attend McGill University, where he studied Economics and Finance.
In 2014, Kim dropped out of McGill University and lived in South America for over 18 months, including Buenos Aires, Argentina, Medellin, Colombia, Lima, Peru.[11][12] The idea of his current company, Rype, was formed while he was traveling abroad.[13][14]

In 2013, Kim founded his first company, Needle, which was awarded the 'Outstanding Venture Award' by The Next 36.[15][16]
Rype[edit]
In 2016, Kim founded his current company, Rype, an online marketplace providing language lessons online via a flat monthly subscription. As of December 2017, the company has had over 150,000 bookings from members since launch.[17]
Other ventures[edit]
In 2017, Kim became a co-owner of iGOTHAM, an eyewear brand designed to improve sleep quality.[18][19][20]

Growth Minds is an audio and video podcast that focuses on a range of topics including entrepreneurship, personal development, lifestyle, investing, and more. Kim has previously brought on authors, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and producers such as Dennis Rodman, Steve Aoki, Robert Greene, Dave Asprey, and Sugar Ray Leonard.[21]
