Dan Anton (born August 12, 1980) is a public speaker, author, entrepreneur and retired Major in the United States Army.[1] He was awarded the Order of Saint Maurice by the National Infantry Association.[2]
Career
Anton began his military career in the United States Army, where he served for 10 years, holding a variety of command and staff positions and rising to the rank of Major.[3]
Training
Daniel B. Anton received a commission as an Army second lieutenant. After attending basic training at Fort Benning, he was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division in Columbus, Georgia, as a platoon leader.[3]
Operation Iraqi Freedom III
1LT Anton served his first tour as an Infantry Rifle Platoon Leader from January 2005 to January 2006 in Baqubah, Iraq. While on patrol during his first mission, his convoy was hit by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which fatally killed his platoon sergeant, SFC David J. Salie, and severely wounded two others. The experience set the tone for the entire deployment.[4][5]
He returned to Iraq as a captain in 2007, serving in the 1st Infantry Division under the Military Transition Team (MiTT) initiative. He served as operations advisor to a National Police Battalion in Baghdad. During one of his unit's combat patrols, Anton severely injured his lower back, resulting in three herniated discs, and spent the next two years rehabilitating his back before being medically retired.
2011- Present
In 2011, he founded "Anton Brothers Marketing" with his brother and business partner, Matt Anton.[6] Anton co-authored "The Rockstars of JVZoo" and created an SEO software. In 2016, he was featured in House Hunters International on the HGTV network.[7][8]
