Daniel Carberry (born March 06, 1990) is an American film and music video director, and producer.

Early Life[edit]

Daniel was born in 1990 and is originally from Ashtabula, Ohio, a small town 53 miles outside of Cleveland.[1] He is a frequent collaborator with his twin brother, editor Michael Cornelius Carberry. [2][3]

Daniel began his career in directing at the age of 12, shooting skateboarding videos in his family's house.[4] As of 2019, he has directed over 30 music videos including Yuna ft. Usher’s “Crush,” Kaskade and Deadmau5 ft. Skylar Grey’s “Beneath with Me,” and Thrice’s “The Grey.” In 2017, Carberry directed a PSA to raise awareness for Veterans with PTSD called “The War at Home” for the VFW Department of Ohio.

In 2011, Carberry was nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards for Best Editing and Best Cinematography for his work on the 2010 Thirty Seconds to Mars song Hurricane.[5] In 2012, Carberry's short film, “Sandbox” circulated among notable short film festivals including the Cleveland Film Festival,[2] Palm Springs International Short Fest, Hollyshorts Film Festival, and was the winner of the Extremely Shorts Film Festival. His work has been described as deeply evocative,[6] ranging from feel-good[7] to heart-wrenching.[8] Daniel Carberry is based out of Los Angeles and is represented by Tommy Labuda in the U.S.[9] and Alexa Haywood in the U.K. for music videos. Arista country artist, Cam, described her experience of working with Carberry on the video for her single "Diane" to Billboard magazine by saying "[He's] so great at just making the whole thing come together in a really beautiful way." [8]
