Daniel Erickson (born December 9, 1976) is an American video game writer, director and producer. He served as the lead writer and lead designer for BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic, senior writer for Dragon Age: Origins and the lead designer for EA Sports Big’s NBA Street Vol 2 and Vol 3.[1][2]

Career[edit]

Began as game critic and founding member of online site Daily Radar, Erickson's game development career started at Electronic Arts Canada as a producer in 2001. He soon moved into game designing. During his time at the company he served as assistant producer on the original, NBA Street and Lead Game Designer on NBA Street Vol. 2 and NBA Street Vol. 3.[3][4]

He stepped down from his lead designer role at EA to get into BioWare, a Canadian video game development company, in 2005. He remained with the company as a writer, designer and creative director for seven years;[5] during this time he was senior writer for Dragon Age: Origins and his major project Star Wars: The Old Republic, in which he also served as lead designer.[6] Since 2018, he leads a new studio called Fogbank Entertainment as studio director.[7]
