Daniel J. Gallardo (*February 19, 1999) is a drummer, songwriter and producer[1] from Los Angeles, California.
Gallardo started playing drums when he was 6 years old, and other instruments followed. After finishing his study at Adolfo Camarillo High School he gained a following on Instagram and Youtube by posting mostly drum covers such as Ariana Grande's 7 Rings, CJ's WHOOPTY or Lalala by BBNO$ and Y2K and also his own original content including drum tutorials.
In 2018 Gallardo became an official ATV ADRUMS ARTIST performing at National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, CA in January 24–27, 2019.
The drummer can often be seen playing by Solimar Beach[2] or - as he stated in a promo video for Output[3] - street performing in Venice, where he gained the most experience in improvising.
Albums
Gallardo used to play in a band As Empires Fall and in 2016 the band released their debut album Square One EP.
Following the single Blend In release, the band released a full-length album New Divide in 2017.
Singles
Gallardo, as a solo artist, released his first single Perfect along with a music video on January 9, 2020.
On March 1, 2021 he released the single Every Night and on July 21, 2021 Lie To Me co-written with Ben Kenney.
All the singles are available on major streaming platforms.
Collaboration
Besides working on original music including various, cross-genre percussive samples, Gallardo is a drummer of BikiniTrill - L.A. based pop band. The band has recently announced their performance at Summer Roots Festival[4] in June 2021 and Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in August 2021. Bikini Trill is currently on tour across USA.
Gallardo also works with Ben Kenney AKA Vatoben (Incubus) and Ashley Mendel on the project called Trio Shows.[5][6] As the entire music industry was paralyzed due to the pandemic, the Trio Shows live shows planned for 2020/2021 were postponed later in 2020 and, due to uncertainty about future live shows, cancelled.[7] The trio teamed up again starting a project called One Take Theater. They made covers of Billy Joel's song Big Shot,[8] Michael Jackson's The Way You Make Me Feel or Never Too Much[9] by Luther Vandross. All covers are available on Ghetto Crush Instagram and Youtube channel Ghetto Crush Industries.
