Daniel Procopio
Daniel Kazumi Rico Procopio (born September 18, 1995) is a Canadian professional baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels organization. Procopio is the fourth of six children. He is of Japanese and Italian descent.
Career
Amateur Career
Procopio attended high school at Central Technical School in Toronto, Ontario. He attended one year of junior college at Seminole State College in Oklahoma before transferring to Niagara University.
New York Mets
The New York Mets selected Procopio in the 22nd round of the 2013 MLB draft, but did not sign him.
Los Angeles Angels
The Los Angeles Angels selected Procopio in the 10th round of the 2017 MLB draft, and signed him for a $10,000 signing bonus.
After signing, Procopio was assigned to the Orem Owlz where he spent the entire 2017 season. In 2018, he played in 12 games for the Inland Empire 66ers before being promoted to the Mobile BayBears for the remainder of the season. He started the 2019 season on the disabled list.
After the 2019 season, on October 13, 2019, he was selected for the Canada national baseball team for the 2019 WBSC Premier12.[1]
