Daniel Zopoula

Daniel Zopoula (born December 11, 1971) is a Canadian entrepreneur, pastor,[1] humanitarian, corporate chaplain, author, trust advisor,[1] and educator.[2]

Early life and education[edit]

Zopoula was born in Boura to a Sissala mother,[3] and grew up in Burkina Faso, West Africa.[1] He is of the Bwaba people, a Mande sub-group originally from Mali. Zopoula is the 33rd of 35 children.[3]

Zopoula enrolled in a boarding school in Diebougou for his early education. He moved to Canada and earned a Master of Divinity degree from Ambrose University.[4]

Career[edit]

Zopoula began his career as a shepherd, farmer, cotton picker, and preacher in Burkina Faso. In 1995, he facilitated the foundation of Bridges of Hope International Network of Development Agencies Ltd., a multi-national non-profit humanitarian organization in Saskatchewan. He is the CEO of Bridges of Hope.[5] The organization assists in prevailing over the economic hurdles of families who are affected by poverty.[4]

In 2000, Zopoula was a Pastor at River of Life Community Church in Lethbridge Alberta, then at the First Congregational Church. He established Miz City Church in Lethbridge, Alberta, on January 28, 2008.[1] Zopoula is a Founder and Senior Consultant at Life Direction Training and Consulting Incorporated. He advocates for the mental health of youths.[1] Zopoula is the owner of Hope Enterprises International9 and head of Travel with Daniel.[6]

He serves at the International House of Bishops as the Archbishop in Province of Canada.[7]

Zopoula is the Chancellor and Academic Dean with Universite Chretiene Logos.[8] He is the Regional Director for Logos University.[9]

Zopoula runs podcasts such as Daniel Zopoula Podcast[10] and Daniel Zopoula Ministries.[11]

He co-started a fundraiser, The House of Hope, a shelter home for girls in Tanzania.[12]

Publications[edit]

Zopoula authored, The All For Nothing Marriage: Why Your Marriage Will Kill You Before Death Do You Part. It was published in 2008[4] by FrisenPress[13] and distributed by The Ingram Book Company.

Personal life[edit]

Zopoula settled in Lethbridge, Alberta, with his wife, Sara Zopoula in 2000.[14]

Awards and recognition[edit]

Zopoula is the recipient of the Orders of Burkina Faso Award.[4]
