Danish Operations Research Association

The Danish Operations Research Association (DORS;).[1] [2] is a professional non-profit association for the promotion and dissemination of the scientific field of Operations Research in Denmark. DORS was created in 1962, under the name Dansk Selskab for Operationsanalyse [3], with the dual purpose of promoting the development within the different branches of operations research, and work for its application within different problem domains. The association is a member of the European umbrella organization, the Association of European Operational Research Societies (EURO)[4], and of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS)[5]

Governance[edit]

The society is managed by a board consisting of up to ten members. The board should always have a President, a Vice President, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and an Editor. The board is elected by the members at the annual meeting for a period of one year.

Membership[edit]

DORS offers membership to both organizations and individuals. Currently (2018), the society has 20 organizations and 257 individuals as members. Thirteen of the member organizations are companies, seven are academic institutes, and three are governmental authorities.

Publications[edit]

Together with the Swedish Operations Research Society, DORS publishes the ORbit magazine[6]. twice a year.

Conferences[edit]

DORS organized one conference every year Application Of Optimization (AOO) <ref> Application Of Optimization (AOO), Agenda of the event (in English)]] to show by example the use of Operation Research in the industry and allow all members to network.
