Darbiban Language
Darbiban Language
Darbiban language, (Darbiban: Darbas meldev) is a fictional language used as a secret strategy for communication.
History
Darbiban is both a written and spoken language that uses a modified Latin alphabet. The language was developed orally over years in an attempt to ultimately create a fully functioning language with grammar and literature. The Darbiban language is very innovative, not having derived from any other spoken language. However, Darbiban has been minorly influenced by Baltic (Lithuanian & Latvian) and Uralic (Estonian, Finnish, Võro, Hungarian) but still is not intelligible with any other spoken language. There is no official dictionary for the language, but attempts are being made to publish an official handbook.
Grammar
Darbiban grammar represents that of the Hungarian language. While being a phonetic language, primary stress is added to the first syllable, though with some exceptions. The basic word order is SOV; subject-object-verb, but there are some exceptions depending on verb tenses.
Verbs
Darbiban verbs conjugate depending on the subject of the sentence. The word order changes when past-tense verbs occur into an object-verb-subject order. Though, present tense is subject-object-verb.
