Lucius Statius Murcus
Lucius Statius Murcus (fl. 45-40/39 BC) was a Roman politician and soldier during the final Civil Wars of the Roman Republic. Though he had initially served Julius Caesar and his faction, following the latter's death he would join forces with Caesar's assassins Brutus and Cassius, leading their fleets during the Liberator's Civil War. In the aftermath of the Battle of Philippi, Murcus would attempt to join forces with Sextus Pompey, but after a short collaboration together he was arrested and executed.
