The Dargol in the Nigerien section of the Niger River Basin

The Dargol River is a tributary of the Niger River, found in Western Africa. Its head is in north-east Burkina Faso, east of Dori, where it flows east to Niger and becomes a section of the international border between the two. The Téra Dam, near Niger's border at the town of Téra, supports the region's agriculture and water supply.[1] It meets the Niger River slightly north of the town Gotheye, which is around ~80 kilometres upstream from Niamey.

On average, the Dargol's annual flow rate at the measuring station in Kakassi was 160 million m³ from 1957 to 1978 and 173 million m³ from 1978 to 2001. The water level of the river increases in the rainy season, usually lasting a few months. The Dargol River seasonally floods.[2][3]
