Dario Costa (born 9 May 1980, Manchester, United Kingdom) is an Italian professional air race, aerobatic, stuntman and flight instructor pilot from Bologna, Italy.[1].
Biography
Dario started to learn piloting while at high school in Bologna where he qualified as commercial pilot and flight instructor. Teaching and competing in aerobatics, Dario evolved with the sport and qualified for the Red Bull Air Race World Championship[2].
In 2008 started competing in the Red Bull Air Race Challenger Cup becoming the first Italian to join this world championship.
On his his second race Dario got on the podium[3] and on his second season won the 2019 Challenger Cup in Lake Balaton[4][5][6].
Dario is active in stunt flying in filming and photography.
Beside race and stunt flying Dario performs at airshows worldwide.
In 2019 Dario was awarded by the Italian Region Emilia Romagna for his sport achievements[7].
Dario is also flying with The Flying Bulls[8]
Dario currently resides in Salzburg, Austria and performs with a modified Zivko Edge 540 based at the Hangar-7.
