Darius Yektai, born 1973 in Southampton, NY, is a painter and sculptor based in Sag Harbor, NY.

Early life and education[edit]

Yektai is the son of Iranian-American painter Manoucher Yektai[1] and Greek-American author and illustrator Helene "Niki" Kulukundis Yektai. He attended Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA studying science and art (1991-1994) received a BA in art history[2] from the American University in Paris (1994-1996), and pursued further studies in studio art at San Diego State University (1998-1999).

Career[edit]

Yektai has received several awards at the Guild Hall of East Hampton museum members show[3] for painting and sculpture, shown internationally in London and Dubai, and has had numerous solo and group shows in New York City and the Hamptons. Recent shows include "Yektai"[4] in 2017 with his father Manoucher and brother Nico (2017) at Guild Hall Museum and "Darklight" [5] at the Arts Center at Duck Creek in Springs, NY (2020). He was featured in the New York Times article,[6] "A Drive-By Art Show Turns Lawns and Garages Into Galleries" (May 11, 2020)[7]. [8]
