Darryl Donnell Turner (born 1964) is an American convicted serial killer. On October 2, 2001, he was convicted of the rapes and murders of two women in Washington D.C..[1] Turner confessed to nine rapes and murders, however authorities questioned the veracity of his confessions.[2] He was suspected in at least five further murders in Washington D.C. from 1994 to 1997, however an agreement was signed with prosecutors not to proceed with other charges against Turner. [3] He was sentenced to life without possibility of parole.[3]

Crimes[edit]

Turner was convicted, indicted, or suspected in the following murders in Washington D.C.:

  • Mary Haskins Ferguson, 29, was found on February 14, 1994, on the baseball field at Hamilton Junior High School, on Sixth Street NE near Gallaudet University. Turner was charged in this case. [3]
  • Toni-Ann Burdine, 32, was found on May 4, 1995 on the same baseball field as Ferguson. Turner was charged in this case. [3]
  • Priscilla Mosley, 49, was found strangled in 1997 and sexually assaulted in her apartment in the 600 block of Newton Place NW, two blocks from where Turner lived in the Park View neighborhood. Turner was suspected in this case. [3]
  • Lateashia Blocker, 28, was found on May 8, 1997 in vacant building on Princeton Pl NW in the Park View neighborhood next door to Turner's residence. Turner was suspected in this case. [3]
  • Emile Dennis, 42, was found in August 1997 in vacant building on Princeton Pl NW. Turner was suspected in this case. [3]
  • Jessica Cole, 41, was found in October 1997 behind a building about a dozen blocks west of her residence on Princeton Pl NW. Turner was suspected in this case. [3]
  • Jacqueline Birch, 39, was found November 18, 1997 in the same vacant building as Blocker on Princeton Pl NW. Turner convicted of first-degree sexual abuse and felony murder.[3]
  • Dana Hill, 34, was found on Decemeber 1, 1997 in a vacant building located near 300 block of Florida Avenue NE and Union Market. Turner convicted of first-degree sexual abuse and felony murder.[3]
