Daryl Austin (born August 21, 1982, in Orem, Utah) is an American journalist.
He has written for various publications, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, National Geographic, USA Today,[3] CNN,[4] Fox News, The Atlantic,[5] NBC News,[6] The Washington Post, and The Los Angeles Times. He is mostly based in Utah.[7]
Career[edit]
Austin has written about various topics, including science, health, and history. He started his journalism career as a film critic, opinion writer, and columnist. He has been a regular contributor for Newsweek,[8] The Today Show,[9] NPR, Psychology Today,[10] Deseret News,[7] Business Insider,[11] BuzzFeed News,[12] and Kaiser Health News.[13]
He has interviewed celebrities for Newsweek and Forbes,[14] including Kate Winslet,[15] Matt Damon,[16] Idris Elba,[17] Ethan Hawke,[18] John Lithgow,[19] Kerry Washington, Terry Crews,[20] James McAvoy,[21] Phillipa Soo,[22] Rainn Wilson,[23] Christian Slater,[24] Aaron Paul,[25] Jamie Lee Curtis,[26] Jesse Eisenberg,[27] Deepak Chopra,[28] and cast members of the Harry Potter franchise.[29]

Personal life[edit]
Daryl Austin married McCall Austin in 2010.[33] The couple has four children together, three daughters and one son.[2] Daryl Austin is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a two-year mission in Puerto Rico where he became fluent in Spanish.[34]
