Dasha Grady

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Dasha Grady is an actress, singer and screenwriter.

Career[edit]

In 2009, at a young age, Dasha hid her online presence from her guardians while she began uploading cover songs on Youtube and is linked to fellow singers Traci Hines, Nick Pitera and Christina Grimmie with whom she shared a small, collaborative community where they would perform cover songs together and support each other's Youtube channels.[1] Originally she wanted to become an opera singer. From a young age she was well-rehearsed in opera and classical music but never professionally pursued the genre.

Disney & musicals[edit]

In 2017, Dasha was approached by Walt Disney Company both physically in London and via Twitter by a California based Disney casting director to audition for the role of Princess Jasmine in the live-action ‘Aladdin’ directed by Guy Ritchie (2019)[2] In a self-published blog she described that upon learning she was called to audition in London, her mental health 'played a number on her' due to a 'mixture of imposter syndrome and fear of becoming public'.

Dasha has covered Disney songs since 2009 on her now archived Youtube channel. She holds a bachelor in acting and musical theatre.

Personal life[edit]

Dasha was diagnosed with OCD at a young age and is now outspoken about mental health in children, especially those raised in conservative religious homes. She was raised in a multicultural and interfaith community where she has acquired several languages.
