Davi Hines-Kaan (born 5 September 2009), known professionally as Davi The Mavi, is an English rapper, songwriter, and record producer from Birmingham. He gained recognition with his self-produced debut single "That Night" in 2024, followed by "Come Back" in 2025, both released under Mystery Records.[1][2]
Early life
Davi Hines-Kaan was born on 5 September 2009 in Birmingham, England.[3] He is the younger brother of singer Ronzoni Hines.[4] From age six, he began remixing tracks, including demos for his brother, and was influenced by artists such as Travis Scott, Wu-Tang Clan, Deadmau5, and dancehall musicians like Ninjaman and Skillibeng.[5][6] He balances music with GCSE studies and pursues athletic activities like Capoeira and boxing.[7]
Career
Davi The Mavi released his debut single "That Night" on 30 August 2024, which he self-produced.[8] The track received coverage for its melodic trap style and lyrical maturity.[9][10] In 2025, he followed with "Come Back", also self-produced, noted for its hip-hop sound and global influences.[11][12][13]
His music draws from a mix of hip-hop, trap, and electronic elements, with critics highlighting his production skills developed from a young age.[14][15]
