David Bradford (born 1950) is an American lawyer and information technology businessman. He is currently the Executive Chairman of the Board of HireVue Inc.,[1] makers of a video-based job interview and hiring management platform.[2]
Education[edit]
Bradford has a law degree from Brigham Young University, a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brigham Young University.[citation needed]
Career[edit]
From 1985-2000, Bradford served as senior vice president and general counsel of Novell, Inc. Bradford helped lead Novell from start up through a series of acquisitions, public offerings and business development activities which led to its place as a multibillion-dollar corporation. His work at Novell was in four different divisions including legal, government relations, business development and security. He worked in antitrust litigation in the European Union Microsoft competition case, involving Microsoft and Novell. Though it was filed in Europe, it resulted in the United States Department of Justice and the European Commission collaborating on a Consent Decree that barred Microsoft from engaging in anti-competitive practices.[3] Bradford is an advocate of what he calls "fair competition".[4] During his last three years at Novell, Bradford reported to Eric Schmidt, now Chairman and CEO of Google.[5] While at Novell, for a two-year period, Bradford was responsible for the company’s $150 million venture capital fund. He also launched FundingUniverse, a website that matches entrepreneurs with angel investors. He is a Senior Advisor to the private equity firm of H&G Capital Partners. During this time period, Bradford also twice served as Chairman of the Board of the Business Software Alliance, the world’s leading industry trade association representing companies like Microsoft, Novell, Lotus, Oracle, etc.
Bradford was CEO of Fusion-io until April 2010, after which he assumed the role of Chairman of the Board. During his tenure as CEO, he employed Steve Wozniak,[6] co-founder of Apple, as the Company’s Chief Scientist, assisted in securing partnerships with IBM, Dell, Samsung and Hewlett-Packard,[citation needed] helped raise over $100 Million in capital and saw the company named the "#1 Most Promising I.T. Company in America" by the Wall Street Journal[7] and the "most innovative up-and-comer in the world" by BusinessWeek[8] readers. He speaks and consults frequently on social media and networking. His involvement with Fusion-io began in June 2008, when he chaired its advisory board and introduced Steve Wozniak into the company. He became chief executive officer in February 2009,[9] and chairman in May 2010 and continues to serve the Company as Chair of its Strategic Advisory Board. Advisory board members that Bradford recruited to Fusion-io include: Steve Young; Michael Leavitt; Ray Bingham, former CEO of Cadence Design Systems, a member of Oracle's board of directors, and a partner with General Atlantic; Stephen M.R. Covey, author of "The Speed of Trust;” and Victor Tsao, Founder of Linksys.
In November 2011, Bradford joined HireVue Inc., as the CEO of the company. He assumed the position from Mark Newman, who remains with the organization as its founder.

Bradford has served on the Board of Directors of both public and private companies and is currently on the board of Pervasive Software. Advisory Board experience includes Omniture, as well as early-stage technology companies.[which?] He is a Trustee and a member of the Executive Committee for the Utah Technology Council.
He was a partner with the law firm Greenberg Traurig, General Counsel of Dynix Corporation, a supplier of library software, and general counsel to the Governor Elect of Utah, Jon M. Huntsman, Jr.. Additionally, he served as CEO, Founder and Advisor to multiple Web 2.0 companies. Bradford has also worked in the angel, venture and private equity markets and continues to serve as a senior advisor to Huntsman Gay Global Capital.
He is currently serving as a Senior Advisor to SCP Worldwide (Sports Capital Partners) and David Checketts, former President of Madison Square Garden and the New York Knicks. He is serves on other advisory boards[which?] and is the founder of several companies.[which?]
Political work[edit]
From 2001 to 2008, Bradford served as a national co-chair along with Meg Whitman, former Chief Executive Officer of eBay, as a national co-chair for Mitt Romney's 2008 presidential campaign.
He led a team that wrote and passed the Utah Venture Capital Enhancement Act, which provided a pool of over $100 million for investing in venture capital funds.
Founding companies[edit]
In 2010, Bradford founded a social networking website[10] for Latter Day Saints professionals.
He also Co-Founded FundingUniverse.com (now Lendio.com) along with Paul Allen, co-founder of Ancestry.com. Additionally, Bradford was the Founder of LinkingUniverse, a professional business application for Facebook. In 2008, he assisted his wife, Linda, in establishing the VIEW- Virtual Immersive Educational World[11]

Bradford was interviewed on the PBS Special – Nerds 2.0.1: A Brief History of the Internet.[citation needed] He has been interviewed on CNN involving matters of international trade.[citation needed] Additionally, he was founder of the Intermountain Chapter of the American Corporate Counsel Association (ACCA) and served as a Trustee for the Western Governor’s University.[citation needed]
Bradford was appointed by the Governor of Utah to serve as a member of the state’s Judicial Nominating Board, selecting the State Supreme Court Justices.[citation needed] From 1996 to 2004, he served on the Board of Trustees of Utah Valley State University.[citation needed]
In 1997, he was honored as the “Alumnus of the Year” for the J. Reuben Clark Law School of Brigham Young University (BYU).[citation needed]
He was named the “Executive of the Year” by the Utah Technology Council in 2010.[12] In January 2011, he was named one of the "100 Most Influential People in the State of Utah" by Utah Business Magazine.[13]
Personal life[edit]
Bradford has been married to Linda Warne since 1977, and has four children and 15 grandchildren.
