David Burden (CIO)
David Burden is a British-American technology executive based in Silicon Valley, California. He has held senior leadership positions at several major technology companies, including Apple, NetApp, Quantcast, Payscale, and ForgeRock, where he served as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Burden played a key role in ForgeRock’s growth and its initial public offering (IPO) in 2021. He is known for his contributions to enterprise IT strategy and digital transformation, as well as his regular participation in industry conferences and executive leadership forums.
Early life and education
David Burden was born in Truro, Cornwall, England, and raised in Bodmin. He attended Bodmin Community College before studying at De Montfort University, United Kingdom.
Career
Burden began his career in the United Kingdom with roles at HM Government, Channel Four Television, and Hitachi. In 2005, he relocated to the United States to continue working for Hitachi in Silicon Valley. He later held technology leadership roles at NetApp and Apple, and executive positions at high-growth technology companies including Quantcast and Payscale.
As CIO of ForgeRock, a digital identity and access management company, Burden oversaw global IT operations, cybersecurity infrastructure, and enterprise systems. He was instrumental in preparing the company for its initial public offering and supporting its international expansion.
