David Collard

David Anthony Collard (born July 7, 1984) is an Australian businessman, entrepreneur, and founder and CEO of SaniteX Global..[1] and re-open.com[2]. In 2017, Collard became the youngest person to make Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) New York when he was made a Banking and Capital Markets Partner at the age of 32[3][4].

Early Life[edit]

Collard was born in Geelong in 1984 to two teachers, and attended high school at St Joseph's College Geelong graduating in 2002[5]. He received a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) in 2006 from RMIT University[6].

PricewaterhouseCoopers[edit]

Collard moved to New York City to commence work as a manager in the Banking and Capital Markets Practice[7] at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)[8]. Serving as a Senior Manager from 2012, Collard was responsible for working with clients such as Bank of America Corporation, American Express, and J.P. Morgan Chase.

In July 2017, Collard was admitted as a partner at PwC in the Assurance Practice at the age of 32[9]. This was the youngest partner admission at PwC New York to date[10].

SaniteX Global[edit]

In 2020, Collard turned around Third Chapter Clothing, an Australian streetwear company, to supply PPE across Australia at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their clients includes the Victorian State government, Victoria Police, City of Melbourne, City of Sydney, City of Darwin, and high-risk regional and Aboriginal-populated areas[11]. Living in New York City at the time, Collard also donated over $1.2 million worth of PPE to numerous not-for-profits around Australia including The Salvation Army, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, and the Geelong Football Club Charity Foundation[12].

Following this venture, Collard founded the company SaniteX which was responsible for manufacturing masks and hand sanitizer. These products were registered with the Australian Made Campaign[13] and Ethical Clothing Australia[14][15] and were supplied to many government agencies in Australia and the United States[16].

In December 2020, Collard rebranded SaniteX as SaniteX Global. Under the SaniteX Global brand, Collard founded re-open.com, a software platform to help combat the pandemic[17]. The platform has been developed alongside the Deakin University Applied Artificial Intelligence Institute (A²I²)[18]. The company has developed software that can recommend adequate levels of PPE and adhere to COVID-19 regulations[19]. The re-open.com platform is targeted towards helping businesses and schools re-open safely[20] particularly in New York, USA[21].

SaniteX Global worked with the CSIRO to start its innovations and relationship with Deakin University[22]. Samsung Electronics partnered with SaniteX Global[23] to trial the Vital Monitoring System (VMS) on the Galaxy Watch4[24], which allows the wearer to self-screen for respiratory illness symptoms[25], including that of COVID-19[26]

Personal Life[edit]

Collard currently resides in New York City. He remains connected to Geelong through his sponsorship of the Geelong Football Club; in 2019 he was a part of a group of benefactors who purchased the first Brownlow medal won in 1924 by Carji Greeves on behalf of the football club[27].
