David Fredston is an American investment manager. He is the founder and CEO of Sole Source Capital.
Fredston was born circa 1983 to Susan and Eric Fredston-Hermann.[1] His father founded a hedge fund called FH International and his mother was on the board of a non-profit called National Ability Center.[1] Fredston earned a Bachelor's degree from Bates College.[1] Afterwards, he worked in mergers and acquisitions at Ladenburg Thalmann.[2] Then, he worked at Goldman Sachs on currencies and commodities.[2]
Fredston founded a Los Angeles-based hedge fund called Long Green Capital Management in 2007.[1][3] Long Green invested in industries like railroads, coal, and fertilizer,[1] as well as other industrial and manufacturing businesses.[2] For six years, Fredston led loan origination and worked in mergers and acquisitions at The Gores Group in Los Angeles, California.[3][4][5] Then, he founded Sole Source Capital in 2016.[3] While there, Fredston raised more than $200 million for the company's second fund.[5]
He married his wife Rochelle Francis Gores in May 2009.[1]
