David Hall (born 20 May 1980) is an English former professional snooker player.

Career[edit]

Born in 1980, Hall gained his first experience of competitive snooker during the 2001/2002 season, when he played on the Challenge Tour; early defeats to Michael Wild, Dylan Leary and Gary Thomson in events 1, 2 and 3 respectively were followed by his entering the 2002 World Championship. There, he fared better, losing in the third qualifying round 2–5 to Jason Weston.

Again playing on the Challenge Tour for the next season, Hall recorded a run to the last 32 at Event 2, where he beat Mike Hallett and Martin Gould, both 4–3, before losing 5–0 to Carlo Giagnacovo. The 2003/2004 season proved better still, Hall losing in the last 16 at Event 1 to Mohammed Shehab, and in the 2004 World Championship, he reached the fifth qualifying round, losing 8–10 to Adam Davies.

These performances earned Hall a place on the main tour for 2004/2005. However, he played in only three tournaments - losing to Jamie Burnett in the Grand Prix, Simon Bedford in the British Open and Shokat Ali in the UK Championship - and failed to win a match. Ranked 96th at the season's conclusion, he lost his place on tour immediately thereafter, and did not play competitive snooker again.[1]
