David Hookstead (born April 17, 1992) is a conservative sports commentator, college football pundit, and writer for The Daily Caller and host of The David Hookstead Show.

Early life

David was born in Madison, Wisconsin and raised in Randolph, Wisconsin. He attended Randolph High School (Wisconsin), and graduated in 2010. He later attended Montana State University before graduating from University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Career

Immediately after graduating from college in 2015, David joined The Daily Caller. In 2017, he took over as the sports, entertainment, and culture editor. In May 2021, The David Hookstead Show was launched.

David regularly appears on Fox News, One America News Network, and other outlets in this role.[1]

Controversies

During his time with The Daily Caller, David has been involved in multiple public feuds and controversies. Notably, Illinois football coach Bret Bielema’s wife Jen disputed allegations put forth by Hookstead about how they met.[2] Hookstead also caused a stir when comparing the Big Ten initially canceling football in 2020 because of COVID-19 to D-Day.[3][4][5][6]

Personal Life

David is an avid fan of Wisconsin Badgers football and Wisconsin Badgers basketball.
