The David Hume Institute is an independent, non-partisan think tank that has been operating at the heart of policy debate for over 35 years.

Established in 1985 by Sir Alan Peacock supported by Sir Gerald Elliot, Alan identified the need for a Scottish based research institute that would be independent of government funding and unafraid to challenge established thinking.
