David M. Hryck
David M. Hryck is an American lawyer and a partner at Holland & Knight LLP. His work includes international tax, cross-border transactions, corporate structuring, international commerce, and entertainment and media law.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
Early Life and Education
Hryck earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Scranton. He received a Juris Doctor from the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and later obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the Georgetown University Law Center.[7][8][9]
Career
He is an attorney at Holland & Knight LLP, where his work includes international tax and cross-border business transactions.[8][9][10][11]
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, he was a partner at Duane Morris LLP. He served as the U.S. head of international tax at the London-based law firm SNR Denton.[12] He has previously worked at several international law firms, where his work included advising clients on cross-border tax planning and international business structuring.[4][13][14][15]
Professional and Nonprofit Activities
In addition to his legal career, Hryck has been involved with nonprofit and philanthropic organizations. He has served on the boards of several nonprofits, including the Amy Winehouse Foundation and the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, and previously served as chairman of the Happy Hearts Fund.[1][16][17][18] He has also been associated with other nonprofit and charitable organizations, including the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization,[19] the Maestro Cares Foundation,[16] the Playing For Change Foundation, and Pencils of Promise.[20]
He has also been affiliated with other charitable organizations working in the areas of humanitarian aid, arts education, and international development.[21] He is also a World Fellow of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award for Excellence Fund.[17][20][22][23]
Honors and Recognition
In 2022, Hryck received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, which recognizes professional achievement and community service.[9][24]
