David McInnes
David McInnes (David William McInnes) is a Scottish-born businessman who left Scotland at the age of 16 to join the British Army. He served in the Royal Corps of Signals. His last posting was in Dhekelia, Cyprus, where he met his now spouse, Elizabeth Fraser. They married in March 1995 and have 3 children, Ella-Grace (b: 1996), Joshua Thomas Brian (b: 1998), and Francesca Elizabeth (b: 2001). He moved to London and began a career in the telecommunications industry with the then Windsor Television. He became a senior manager in the business in 1993 under the leadership of Philippe Galteau. He left the company following a series of takeovers and eventually started at Hutchison 3G (now known as "3"). McInnes then had a number of roles after a TUPE arrangement saw him transfer to Ericsson. He left Ericsson in September 2016 to start his own business, working in the public sector as an industry expert for the Home Office.
Sport McInnes was an avid sportsman from a young age, winning the Lanarkshire schools cross-country title at the first attempt. He was also school sports champion in 1982 at Lesmahagow High School. On joining the army, McInnes became a keen canoeist and won both individual and team titles in slalom, white-water, and marathon events. He was army slalom champion two years in a row in 1986 and 1987.
