David Merron is an English writer, born in London and evacuated as a wartime child to the countryside.[1] His first commercially published book, Goodbye East End, is released by Corgi on 2nd, July 2015.[2]
Goodbye East End is a memoir about David's experiences whilst evacuated to the British countryside during World War II. Placed into the care of strangers, it charts conflicts between his unexpected and newly found love of the countryside and his guilt about not missing home in the East End of London as much as he might.
