David Reed Watson is an American rock and metal vocalist, lyricist, and songwriter. He is best known as the lead singer of Kill Ritual and Alchemy Fire, and for his contributions to projects including Rage of Angels, D.N.A., A Rising Force, and Darrel Treece-Birch’s Atlantea.[1]
Early Life
David Reed Watson was born in North Adams, Massachusetts. He began performing in regional bands in the late 1980s before transitioning into international projects.[2]
Music Career
Early Projects (2009–2012)
- Chris Sundive (2009): Provided vocals and wrote lyrics for Another Day, released on Ebony Red Records.[3]
- Iambic Pulse (2009): Vocalist and lyricist on tracks including Behind the Veil, Dark as Night, and Escape From Nowhere.[4]
- Mysticity (2010–2013): Vocalist on tracks featuring Derek Sherinian and Bobby Rondinelli.[5]
- The Constant (2010–2012): Co-writer and vocalist on the self-titled album, mastered at Capitol Records.[6]
D.N.A. (2013–2019)
Watson co-founded D.N.A. with Alexandre Santos (Scar for Life) and Neil Fraser (ex-Ten). He was lyricist and vocalist on Life (2013).[2] In 2019, D.N.A. released the single Lies That Bind featuring Callie Enne.[7]
Rage of Angels (2011–2013)
Watson co-wrote and sang With the Beating of Your Heart on Dreamworld (2013).[8][9][10][11]
Kill Ritual (2015–2018)
Watson became lyricist and lead vocalist for Kill Ritual in 2015.[1] He appeared on Karma Machine (2015) and All Men Shall Fall (2018).[12][13]
Alchemy Fire (2019–present)
Watson fronts Alchemy Fire as lyricist and vocalist. The 2023 debut received positive reviews.[14][15][16]
A Rising Force (2021–2022)
Watson was lyricist and vocalist for Eclipse (2022), writing Star and Trail of Tears.[17]
Darrel Treece-Birch / Atlantea (2023–present)
Watson sang on Atlantea: Choices (2023) and the upcoming Atlantea: Life.[18][19]
Destiny's Endless Fire (2023)
Watson featured on Underground Lullaby (2023).[20]
