David Scobie (1964) is a Scottish-born folk singer. When he was 9 years old he emigrated with his parents to Salisbury, Rhodesia. He was raised on traditional Scottish music and was influenced by Rhodesian folk music.
The family stayed in the country after it became Zimbabwe and David started recording music at Shed Studios. His debut single Gypsy Girl reached number 1 in the Zimbabwean music charts and number 4 in the South African charts.[1]
