Dayana Erappa is an Indian supermodel who is a regular at premier fashion events such as the Lakme Fashion Week and India Fashion Week, and is featured on many of the leading Indian fashion magazine covers.

Early life and education[edit]

Erappa was born in Kodagu, Karnataka. Dayana did her schooling at Kodagu Vidyalaya, Madikeri. [2]. She has one older sister. Erappa graduated from Baldwins Methodist College in Bengaluru with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts.

Career[edit]

Erappa began her career early, beginning modelling during her college days, and became a full-time model by the age of 19. Erappa first came to national prominence as a contestant in the Miss India 2010 pageant, when she was 21. One of her very first notable nationally prominent modelling assignments was in 2015, for the celebrated Kingfisher Calendar, an eagerly awaited annual publication from the Kingfisher brand. She repeated that honour again, two years later, for the 2017 Kingfisher Calendar. [2] Her family was extremely supportive. Erappa had always nursed a quiet ambition to join the Indian Defence Forces, in the Army, (being an outstanding student in the NCC (National Cadet Corps) for 3 years in school, but her modelling career took off so quickly that she reluctantly had to put that dream aside. Erappa regularly took part in major contests right upto representing India at The Elite Model Look in 2012. Since then, over the last decade, Erappa has been a regular participant at the premier national Indian fashion events such as the Lakme Fashion Week and India Fashion Week; and is regularly seen on Indian fashion magazine covers.[3]

This film was dubbed as 'Nawab' in the South Indian Telegu language, and she won the ‘Find of the Year’ Award at the Galatta awards in 2019.

Her first foray into the OTT space on Zee5 was in the black comedy original series Sunflower in 2021.
