Keyyandira Appayya

Keyyandira Appayya was born poor in Arapattu village in Kodagu. He was a young boy when he bravely attacked and defeated his contemporary Kullachanda Chondu who was a great fighter of those times. Appayya became a famous warrior during his times. His numerous exploits were remembered long after his death by the people of Kodagu during annual festivals. Several folk ballads were made about this historical person.[1][2]
