History[edit]
Janisse used to be a minor writer, actor, and a worker for the Electrical Department. As a kid, he was fascinated by horror, and created a webpage on counting kills from slasher films, which served as inspiration for Dead Meat. He finished college in Michigan, before moving to Los Angeles. His first channel, PracticalFolks, was made in 2014.
He started his channel, Dead Meat, with Friday the 13th, in 2017.[note 1]
James was reportedly surprised to find popularity in the Kill Count. He took up a part-time job to afford more filming equipment, and special effects.
Note[edit]
- ↑ On January 5th, 2021, he announced a remake of the Friday the 13th Kill Counts, with more background information
