"Dear Mom" is a ballad pop song performed by South Korean girl group Girls' Generation. Sung in Korean, the song was included on their first extended play, Gee which was digitally released on January 5, 2009 under the record label S.M. Entertainment.[1]

Composition[edit]

"Dear Mom" was composed by Kim Tae Sung, while the lyrics were composed by his girlfriend singer Ivy, though she used the penname "The Lighthouse" in the album credits.[2] Ivy also write Shinee's song "Last Gift".[3]

"Dear. Mom" is a pop ballad with lyrics containing the love of a daughter toward her mother.[citation needed]

Release[edit]

The song was released as the third track on Girls' Generation's first extended play, Gee on January 5, 2009.[1]

Promotion[edit]

Girls' Generation performed the song live for the first time on SBS's The Music Trend on March 1, 2009. On stage, each member showed a picture of themselves as a child with their mothers, sending a thank you message to their moms. [4]

The song was also performed on Into The New World: Asia Tour.[citation needed]
