Debabrata Chatterjee (born 13 January 1980) is an Indian teacher, social worker and literature.[1] He is known as a book lover and came into limelight by purchasing books worth Rs 3 lakh 36 thousand at a book fair.[2][3][4]
Early life
Chatterjee's uncle owned a library, and this library enthralled him.[5] In 1994, a book fair was organized in Kolkata. Chatterjee had no idea that there was a book fair. He went to this fair again in 1999 and bought some books.[6]
Achievements
Gradually, as Chatterjee got into the teaching profession and started earning money, he started buying books in large numbers. To date, he has collected 14,700 books and read 2,000 books.[7][8]
He was honored at the International Book Fair held in Kolkata in 2024.[9]
