Deda (ethnic slur)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Deda (Bengali: ড্যাডা) is a derogatory slur for Bengali Hindus in Bangladesh.[1] It is mainly used in the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh.[2] The origin of the term is not clear. One of the earliest usage of the word has been noted in the Pakistan period. At a rally during the 1970 general elections in Pakistan, Fazlul Quader Chowdhury publicly said that the Dedas should not be trusted.[3]
