Deepti Jal Singh (born February 26, 1999) is an Indian actress, model and lawyer known for her breakout role as Seema in the Netflix series The Indian Detective (2017). She first gained attention in 2016 as the first Indian female featured in the Nescafé South Africa Good Morning World campaign. Singh has since become recognized for her versatile acting in both international and Canadian/South African television projects.[1]

Singh was born to successful business professionals of North Indian descent. Raised in a family that valued both entrepreneurial success and cultural heritage, she developed a strong sense of social responsibility from an early age. Singh has a younger brother who works in the IT and cybersecurity field, further reflecting the family's emphasis on academia.
Singh's educational journey began at a Montessori and continued in private schools. In 2009, she transitioned to homeschooling, where she completed her studies through a combination of institutions. In 2016, Deepti Jal Singh was cast as the first Indian female in the Nescafé - South Africa Good Morning World campaign, which was part of the brand's International Coffee Day celebrations. This role marked a significant milestone in her early career and helped her gain recognition in the South African advertising industry.
In 2017, Singh's career took a major step forward when she was cast as Seema in the new CTV original series The Indian Detective. The show, a Canadian/Bollywood fusion, was directed by Sandy Johnson and produced by Frank Spotnitz. It also starred Russell Peters, William Shatner, and Anupam Kher. The Indian Detective premiered on CTV on November 23, 2017, and was later released on Netflix on December 19, 2017. The pilot episode attracted 1.6 million viewers, making it the highest-rated debut in Canadian television history at the time.
The Indian Detective went on to become a major success, earning the Golden Screen Award at the 7th Canadian Screen Awards in 2019, as the highest-rated Canadian television program of 2018.
