Deewana Sanam is a 1995 Hindi mystery thriller film starring Sagar and Malika Arora in their Bollywood debut. The movie is written and directed by Vicky Ranawat.[1]
Plot
Kiran (Malika Arora) the daughter of wealthy businessman Mahendra Pratap (Saeed Jaffrey) finds Suraj (Sagar) in a road accident late at night with minor injuries in his badly damaged jeep and helps him by dropping him home and he invites her in. There, Kiran finds Suraj's child crying and sees photos of his dead wife, Kanchan (who looks a lot like Kiran).
Suraj tells Kiran his flashback story that he had saved Kanchan from goons trying to rape her while she was escaping from her own father who tried to force Kanchan into prostitution. Suraj proposed to marry Kanchan as she didn't want to go back to her parents house. She agreed and they had a child, Munna, before she died.
Kiran starts feeling closer to Suraj and the child and starts visiting Suraj's house regularly. Meanwhile, Raja Thakur (Ranjeet) is secretly spying on both Suraj and Kiran and their whereabouts.
A few days later, Kiran is shocked to see a photo of her own mother and father, Mahendra Pratap (Saeed Jaffrey), in Suraj's house with a note written by her mother behind the photo accusing Mahendra Pratap for the bad reputation of their daughter Kanchan. Kiran tries to confront her father about this but avoids it when Dr. Verma (Navin Nischol) tells Kiran that her father has had a heart attack and should not be disturbed with any bad news. Kiran is upset and avoids meeting Suraj after she has a nightmare in which Suraj shoots her father.
Meanwhile, Raja Thakur (Ranjeet) who had raised Suraj as his own son tells Suraj it is time to proceed further with the plan but Suraj who is now deeply in love with Kiran refuses. It is then revealed that there is a larger plot at play by Raja Thakur and Dr. Verma to punish and rob the wealth and property of wealthy businessman Mahendra Pratap. How Suraj tries to explain this to Kiran and prove his love for her and win her heart forms the rest of the movie.
