Deirdre Wadding
Deirdre Wadding (born 1961/62)[1] is Ireland's first openly pagan elected representative, elected to Wexford County Council in May 2014.[2] Before her election to Wexford County Council, Wadding participated in the Campaign Against Home and Water Taxes, which resulted in an approach from the People Before Profit Alliance.[2] At that time they had no elected representatives outside Dublin; however, eight months after that approach, Wadding was elected to the final seat in the Wexford district at the 2014 election.[2] She is a former teacher.[1] She later ran in the Wexford constituency at the 2016 general election.[1][3]
