Deljou Art Group
Deljou Art Group is a fine art publisher that creates, distributes, and promotes original works of art, such as painting, sculpture, and photography. They also provide contract and custom framing, digital printing, and commission services.[1] They sell exclusively to the trade, with clients represented by art galleries, interior designers, art consultants, corporate agents, and private investors. History
1981 - 1993
Deljou Art Group was founded by the Deljou brothers in Atlanta, Georgia in 1981 as Serigraphie Art Publishing Co. By 1983, Serigraphie Art Publishing Co. expanded its capabilities to offer serigraph, embossing, and etching, and changed the name of the company to Graphique Dujour.[1] That same year, the company expanded their sales to California, Chicago, and Texas. By 1984, Graphique Dujour had reached more than one hundred clients,[1] and in 1986, expanded its services to offer monotyping and monopaint. As the business continued to grow, Graphique Dujour moved into a larger facility and began to hire outside artists. 1986 also marked the introduction of their presence in the USA fine art market, as well as their first international sale. In 1987, Graphique Dujour opened its first in-house showroom. They also continued to expand in the international market, supplying art to four Norwegian Cruise Line ships.[1] In the late 1980s, Graphique Dujour continued to grow their international sales to include markets in Europe, Canada, and South Africa. By 1990, Graphique Dujour had increased in size to 26 employees and expanded to a new facility nearly four times larger than their original space. Graphique Dujour began to offer original fine art that same year. During the early 1990s, the company also began to introduce initiatives such as their Fly-In program and their Free Look program.[1]
1995 - 2010
In 1995, the company officially changed its name to Deljou Art Group. At this point, many more services were offered, including custom framing and high-quality image scanning.[1] In 1996, Deljou furthered its international reach with its first sale in Dubai. They also opened a showroom in High Point, North Carolina. By 1997, Deljou Art Group launched its first website and moved to a 27,000 square foot space - nearly doubling their work space. In 2001, they underwent another move to their current location at 1616 Huber Street in Atlanta, Georgia.[3] This move nearly tripled their space, and they expanded to 40 employees. This move also allowed them to offer more services, including graphic design and contract framing. By the mid-2000s, Deljou had expanded to over 50 employees. At this point, they discontinued both their High Point, North Carolina showroom and their partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line. Services such as hand embellishment and in-house printing also emerged during this time. In 2010, Deljou Art Group also added resin coating to their repertoire of services offered.[1]
2012 - 2016
In 2012, one of Deljou's most prominent artists, Craig Alan, created a painting from his Populus collection that was installed in the office of United States Senator Harry Reid.[1] In 2015, Deljou Art Group re-organized its governance and top-line strategy, and launched a new website. Through this re-structuring, they also increased their production capacity. In May 2016, Deljou expanded its gallery space. They also opened to the public for the first time during their July sale. In 2016, Deljou Art Group was selected as the Most Progressive Fine Art Publisher in the Mid-Market Achievement Awards by Corporate Vision Magazine,[4] and Best Fine Art Publishers in the AI Excellence Awards 2016.[citation needed]
