Renaldy Denada Rachman, (born Dena Rachman; August 30, 1987) is an Indonesian actress, model and fashion designer. She is a trans woman.[1][2] She made her soap opera debut with Misteri Gunung Merapi by Genta Buana Paramita that aired on Indosiar, an Indonesian TV network.[3][4]
Early life[edit]
Dena was born Renaldy Denada Rachman in Jakarta on August 30, 1987. Dena is the 2nd of 4th children of Acan Rachman (Father), a dancer and choreographer who owns a dance studio in Jakarta, and Gina Atmadja Rachman (Mother). Dena has one older sibling named Ufa Rachman (First older Sister), and two younger siblings named Vellery Atrina Rachman (First younger sister) and Latigy Rachman (Second younger sister).[2]
Career[edit]
Dena began her career as hosted Krucil on SCTV in 1993.[5] She has started her career in Indonesian entertainment while still in elementary school as an advertising star and child singer. Dena became known after singing a children's song titled Ole-Ole and Rukun dan Damai.[6]
Personal life[edit]
Dena graduated from SMA Negeri 6 Jakarta in 2005 and continued her studies at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences majoring in Communication Science at the University of Indonesia. After graduating from there, she continued her master's studies by majoring in design, Fashion and Luxury Goods at the University of Bologna, Italy.[7]

Dena Rachman's name re-emerged to the public after she honestly revealed about her identity who chose to become a transgender. She wrote about her anxiety that she could not behave like a human being who was born a man. However, she was more interested in becoming a woman. She said: "I don't like doing things that boys my age do. If they like to play ball, run around, even fight, I don't. I'm quieter, more calm. I'm quieter, more calm. From a young age, I liked playing with my mom's clothes, her cosmetics collection."[8][9]
Convert from Islam to Christianity (2020)[edit]
Rachman is a convert to Christianity.[10][11]
