Dennis C. Hammond

Dr. Dennis C. Hammond is an American plastic surgeon based in Grand Rapids, Michigan and assistant professor of surgery at Michigan State University. Hammond developed the SPAIR (short scar periareolar inferior pedicle reduction) technique.[1]

Education[edit]

Hammond graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1985 and did his internship and residency in general surgery for Blodgett Memorial Medical Center and St. Mary's Health Services until 1988. From 1988 to 1990, he was a resident in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Grand Rapids Area Medical Education Consortium. Following this, Hammond went on to complete his fellowship in aesthetic and reconstructive breast and cosmetic surgery, under G. Patrick Maxwell, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville in 1991, and his fellowship in hand and microsurgery at The Medical College of Wisconsin in 1992. Since then, he has been practicing in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 1994, Hammond was certified as a plastic surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.[2][3][4]
