Derek "Grasshopper" Madison is a Canadian musician, best known as the singer, guitarist and songwriter for the alternative rock band Grasshopper. He has several albums with the group.[1] and has played multiple instruments on other side projects, starting in the late 80's.[2]. In the mid 90's Derek began studying Hip-Hop production alongside legendary producer Noel “Gadget” Campbell, working with the likes of Canadian hip-hop stars Saukrates, Choclair and the Grassrootz[3] Derek might be best known for selling records in Toronto's famous Kensington market neighborhood. Being an avid vinyl collector all his life, and DJ, Derek eventually opened his own record store in Toronto. He is still an active musician and DJ, playing shows in Toronto regularly.
