Derrick LeBlanc (born May 6, 1974) is an American football coach who is currently the defensive line coach for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as an assistant defensive line coach for the Miami Dolphins after spending 21 seasons coaching at the collegiate level.[1]

Early years[edit]

Derrick LeBlanc was a four-year letterman (1992-96) at Northwestern State where he played both offensive and defensive line. As a junior and senior, he earned Southland Conference All-Academic team honors. LeBlanc graduated with a degree in business administration and also earned a master's degree in sports administration from LSU.[2]

Coaching career[edit]

College[edit]

LeBlanc began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at LSU in 2000. He then coached the defensive line at Henderson State (2001-04), Arkansas Tech (2005), and Missouri State (2006-07). From 2008 to 2011, he was an assistant strength and conditioning coordinator at LSU. LeBlanc returned to coaching the defensive line in 2012 with the Wyoming Cowboys football and later at Southern Miss (2013-2014), where he helped develop two NFL draft picks. In 2015, he became defensive coordinator/defensive line coach at Pearl River Community College. LeBlanc returned to D1 college football in 2016 to coach the defensive line at North Texas, before moving on to Kentucky (2017-2019) and Arkansas (2020).[3]

Miami Dolphins[edit]

In 2021, LeBlanc was hired as the assistant defensive line coach by the Miami Dolphins under head coach Mike McDaniel, marking his first season coaching at the NFL level.[4]

Arizona Cardinals[edit]

In February 2022, LeBlanc joined the Arizona Cardinals as their defensive line coach.[5]

Personal Life[edit]

He and his wife, Niema, have two sons, Dayton and Derrick, and one daughter, Kennedy.[6]
