Desta Talk is an online portal providing farmers with information on agriculture and agribusiness for free.[1]
It is an initiative of Desta Global—an Indian start-up company working in the agriculture sector.[2][3] It was founded by Ron Boehm, Marlys Boehm, and Nishant Banore in 2010.
Activities
In May 2015, Desta Talk conducted an online photography contest, "Desta Krushi Pariwar". About 168 photographs were submitted for this contest. Winner of the contest, Sonali Bhoi from Nashik, Maharashtra, was awarded a prize of Rs. 50,000; her photograph got 4377 votes.[4]
Awards
Desta Talk won a "Special Mention Award" at the Social Media for Awareness Summit 2016, organized by the Digital Empowerment Foundation.[5]
