Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (short 'DBAG') is a Germany-based public private equity company that initiates closed-end private equity funds and invests alongside these funds in leveraged buyout and growth capital investments in the middle-market companies segment. The company operates through two business lines: Fund Investment Services and Private Equity Investment. DBAG focuses on medium-sized companies, primarily in the DACH region and Western Europe, especially in sectors like mechanical and plant engineering, automotive, and industrial components manufacturing. Founded in 1965, DBAG is headquartered in Frankfurt and manages approximately $3.5 billion of investments and capital commitments.[1]

DBAG shares have been traded in the Entry Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since December 1985. The company has a market capitalization of around €550 million (as of January 26, 2021).[2]

Investment Approach[edit]

DBAG focuses on medium-sized companies in Western Europe or parts of companies that no longer belong to the core business of a group. Other investment cases include corporate succession, turnarounds, or growth capital.[3]

Portfolio Companies[edit]

Since its establishment more than 50 years ago, DBAG has provided equity capital to over 300 companies together with the DBAG funds. The company currently holds 33 portfolio companies.[4]
