Dhanashree Verma (born 27 September 1992) is an Indian choreographer, dancer, dentist, and YouTuber. She is best known for her dance choreography videos on digital platforms and her marriage to and subsequent divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal.
Early life and education
Dhanashree Verma was born on 27 September 1992 in Amravati, Maharashtra, and later moved to Dubai with family for a few years before coming back to India to prusue her education in Dentistry.[1] She earned her degree in dentistry from DY Patil Dental College, Navi Mumbai.[2]
Career
Verma trained under choreographers like Shiamak Davar and eventually founded the Dhanashree Verma Company, specializing in Bollywood-style dance content. Her YouTube channel has millions of subscribers and features choreographies, dance covers, and celebrity collaborations.[3]
Personal life
Verma and cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal began dating during the COVID-19 pandemic. They got engaged in August 2020 and married in December 2020 in Gurugram.[4][5]
The couple filed for divorce by mutual consent in early 2025, after being separated for more than a year. The divorce was finalized in March 2025.[6]
During the final hearing, Chahal’s choice to wear a T-shirt stating “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy” drew widespread criticism—Verma described the incident as a “stunt” and said, “Are bhai, WhatsApp kar deta,” suggesting he could have simply messaged her instead.[7]
Verma addressed rumors and public scrutiny following the divorce, firmly rejecting labels like “fake marriage” and emphasizing resilience, emotional healing, and her focus on future growth.[8]
