Dhothar is a rural village located in Punjab, India's Ludhiana district, in the Jagraon sub-division.[1] Jasbir Singh Tatla, the first turbaned Sikh in Canadian Air Force, came from this village.[2]

Geography

Dhothar has a total size of 265 hectares.[citation needed] The village's pincode is 142025.[citation needed] The closest town to Dhothar for any significant economic activities is Mullanpur Dakha.[citation needed]

Demographics

As of 2011, 604 individuals make up the whole population of Dhothar, 324 of whom are men and 280 women.[1] This is an increase from a population of 468 in 1981.[3] The literacy rate in the village of Dhothar is 81.79%.[1] Dhothar has roughly 120 households.[1]

Political

It is located 25 km from the district headquarters in Ludhiana and 20 km from the sub-district headquarters in Jagraon (tehsildar office).[citation needed] According to data from 2009, Dhothar village is also a gram panchayat.[citation needed]

A sarpanch, a representative of the village chosen through local elections, manages Dhothar village.[citation needed] According to 2019 statistics, Dhothar village is part of the Ludhiana parliamentary and Dakha assembly constituencies.[citation needed]
