Dhruwal Patel
Dhruwal Patel is an Indian filmmaker, Director and cinematographer. He is known for his work on music videos, television commercials and Indian cinema. Patel has collaborated with several leading artists and production houses in India.

Early life
Dhruwal Patel was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. He initially began his artistic journey as a percussionist before developing an interest in photography. While pursuing Aeronautical engineering, he started working behind the scenes as a photographer on film and music sets.
Patel later began directing small music videos in Ahmedabad, which helped him build experience in visual storytelling. He subsequently moved to Mumbai, where he started his career in the film industry as a lightman. Over time, he transitioned into cinematography and eventually established himself as a director and cinematographer, focusing on music videos and advertising films.[1]
Patel described filmmaking as "the gift of the universe" in a 2022 interview, reflecting his belief that creative energy guided his career path.[2]
Career
Patel began his career in Ahmedabad, directing small independent music videos before moving to Mumbai, where he initially worked as a lightman.[3] Over time, he transitioned into cinematography and later directing, building a portfolio of more than 300 projects, including music videos, short films and advertising films.[4]
Patel gained widespread recognition with the music video Zihaal e Miskin (2023), as Director and featuring Rohit Zinjurke and Nimrit Ahluwalia.[5] The video was noted for its emotional climax and achieved significant popularity on digital platforms. He had earlier worked as the Director & Cinematographer for Darshan Raval’s hit music video Ek Tarfa (2020 )
Over the course of his career, Patel has collaborated with a number of leading Indian singers, including Darshan Raval, Vishal Mishra, Jubin Nautiyal, Badshah, Payal Dev, Sonu Kakkar and Shirley Setia.[3] His work also includes commercial advertisements for prominent brands in India. In interviews, he has described filmmaking as "the gift of the universe," underscoring his belief that creative energy shaped his career path.[6]
Patel is largely self-taught and has not attended a formal film school, crediting his on-set experience and independent practice as the foundation of his craft.[7]
