Richard Pierce (March 1, 1896 – September 1966) was an American football player.

Pierce was born in 1896 in Atlanta. According to Pro-Football-Reference.com, he attended the University of Michigan and later played professional football in the National Football League (NFL) for the Chicago Tigers during it inaugural season of 1920. He reportedly appeared in four games, two of them as a starter. He died in 1966 at age 70 in Detroit[1]

Another source, ProFootballArchives.com disputes whether Dick Pierce played for the Chicago Tigers. That source indicates that the individual who played four games at guard for the 1921 Chicago Tigers was a different individual named Floyd LaVerne Pierce.[2]
